Benjamin Newberry & James Newberry only heir of James Newberry decd; ordered Josiah Evans, George W. Evans, Neill Black, Thomas Rickandser & Benjamin Chapman appointed Commissioners to divide Lands willed by Jesse Newberry decd to sons James now decd & Benjamin - Between said Benjamin & his nephew James Newberry in right of his father decd. John Black appointed surveyor on division.

James Newberry's estate settled with Court by the administrators. Due the administrators pds. 17.7.9.October 1798: Samuel Hollingsworth & Andrew Brennan, guardians to orphans of James Newberry deceased. cited to render settlement of their guardianship.January 1799;

On hearing the application of Benjamin Newberry & James Newberry the only heir of James Newberry deceased ordered that Josiah Evans, George W. Evans, Neill Black, Thomas Richardson & Benjamin Chapman be appointed to divide the lands willed by Jesse Newberry, deceased, to his sons James Newberry, now deceased, & Benjamin Newberry, between the said Benjamin and his nephew James Newberry in right of his fathers deceased.

James Newberry married Lucy Thames in about 1812 (daughter of the Reverend William Thames) and they moved to Monroe Co. Al with her brother Cornelius Thames and her sister Nancy Ann Thames Wiggins about 1816...."

James married Lucy Thames in 1812 in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Lucy was born on 30 Nov 1795 in Cumberland County, North Carolina and died on 1 Oct 1860 in Monroe County, Alabama at age 64.

Caroline married Moses Beard circa 1832 in Alabama. Moses was born on 24 Mar 1810 in Cumberland County, North Carolina and died on 14 Mar 1864 in Waynesboro, Wayne County, Mississippi at age 53.
